Miatta is a corporate attorney who represents clients throughout the entire business lifecycle, from entity formation and structuring, through financings, public and private offerings, and mergers and acquisitions. She has represented buyers and sellers in asset and equity sales across industries including real estate, healthcare, energy, and technology. Her clients have ranged from leading international private equity firms to midmarket regional companies, startups, and family-owned businesses.
Miatta began her legal career in the Houston office of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, focusing on mergers and acquisitions and investment funds. She later joined the Houston office of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP, helping establish the corporate group and handling sophisticated middle-market transactions.
Miatta joined MouerHuston in 2026, expanding her practice to include commercial litigation while continuing to advise businesses through strategic transactions and day-to-day legal matters. She frequently serves in an outside general counsel capacity, counseling clients on formation, fundraising, commercial contracts, asset management, restructurings, corporate governance, compliance, and operations.
While at the University of Texas School of Law, Miatta served as a staff editor of the Texas Journal on Civil Liberties & Civil Rights and interned for the NAACP Texas State Conference. Before law school, she helped her family launch and manage Cape Sierra Family Clinic in Nashville. She also co-founded and serves on the board of Mission Sierra, Inc., a nonprofit developing healthcare facilities in rural Sierra Leone.
Miatta holds a master’s degree in clinical-community psychology. Her research and clinical training focused on developing therapies, policies, and resources to cultivate generational wealth and wellness in vulnerable communities. In 2014, she was selected to serve as the policy fellow in SAMHSA’s Office of Behavioral Health Equity. Her psychology, community development, and entrepreneurial backgrounds inform how she negotiates, assesses risk, and helps clients define and achieve measurable goals.
